Apple Beer Poetry Page 2
Sing a song of Apple Beer
Of Bubble, Ice,
and Foam
A tribute to the fav'rite drink
Of this strict gastronome1
I love to
feel that glassy mug
Wrapped gently in my hand
And let its juice slip down
my throat
Like an hourglass' sand
Of all the many bev'rages
That we
could ever choose
There is but one to quench our thirst
'Tis thee, O Apple
Booze!
Golden Brew and Fluffy Head
Crystal clear and pure
Drink and
drink and drink and drink
Until my teeth have fur
Do I sip or do I
chug?
To savor or inhale?
Is Apple Beer a glass of wine
Or mighty keg
of ale?
O Apple Beer, O Apple Beer
For thee we sing and dance
Not
caring if through clumsiness
We spill thee on our pants
Can such a
taste come from the plum,
Banana, orange or pear?
Nay! But only from one
fruit:
The Apple, true and fair!
A biting tip, a gentle nose
A
bitter aftertaste
Art thou man enough to drink the foam
Without a puckered
face?
Not sauce, not juice, not Jacks or pie
Don't use this golden
taste
For anything but Apple Beer;
All else would be a waste
If you
should find me faint one night
With thirst upon my tongue
Just bring the
sacred Apple Beer
And praises will be sung
